UNFF 12 Omnibus resolution

At the end of UNFF 12 an omnibus resolution was adopted, as well as procedural resolution on the extension of the UNFF Bureau’s term-of-office for one to two years.

    In the resolution, the secretariat is requested to further revise the voluntary national reporting and notes the development of a global set of forest indicators, in particular on sustainable forest management.

    The resolution welcomes the initiative to contribute the implementation of the UN strategic plan for forest 2017-2030 and notes the development of a work plan. The resolution encourages Major Groups to continue their involvement in the work of the forum, and emphasize the importance of the forums contributions to poverty eradication, food security, gender quality and the implementation of sustainable forest management
